US judge orders May 15 decision on polar bears. (Update from the March 18 polar bear story) The Bush administration has stalled on protecting Polar Bears in order to open up polar areas to oil drilling. Finally someone is forcing them to follow the law. In our future I fear polar bears will only exist in zoos. It is sad that the worst president ever gets away with this. Story by Reuters.
Obama Poster. This is the one I have on my window. If you want to show your support as well, print this bad boy out and stick it to your window.
McCain's gas tax summer vacation is just another way to hook up energy industry friends. Just like Bush's recent decision to increase the oil reserve, where gas is bought at super high prices from his oil buddies at the expense of americans, McCain wants to take money away from our already defunded and dilapidated infrastructure just so that these oil guys could increase sales. It is so obvious yet no one will say it. I said it. Screw this guy.

Ugh. The spin is killing me. How do Hillary supporters think that Obama attacks Hillary more than the other way around? I heard that from Hillary supporters on NPR over and over. Where are they getting this garbage? All Hillary does is attack Obama. I've been keeping up with Obama. He mostly dogs on McCain, Bush or Bill. Hillary does say, at her rallies, that Obama is attacking her, but that doesn't make it true.
I find this post Pennsylvania spin so sickening. No Hillary you don't have the popular vote. Michigan is not yours. Your name was the only one on the ballot. Cut the crap. You said yourself we aren't going to count Florida and Michigan. Now that you're down you want to change the rules. Have you no shame. You are going to tear apart the party. For what? You have less of a chance to win than Barack. Look at the polls.
You say Barack couldn't handle the republicans in the fall. Hillary you are a republican in the fall. The way you act. Yet could it go the other way? Obama has run a completely different campaign. The republicans are going to tear you a new on the fall.
Chelsea Clinton became upset when a student asked her about her father's cheatin' ways, again. Don't think the repubs will bring that up? Personally I think if she wins we will hear all the scandals from the 90's and a whole lot more. I don't think Hill-rod could handle it. I don't think I could handle it!
James E. Clyburn the Democratic whip in the House from South Carolina said yesterday that black americans are appalled at Bill Clinton's recent "race card" comments and other seemingly racist comments from earlier in the race.
Mr. Clyburn added that there appeared to be an almost “unanimous” view among African-Americans that Mr. and Mrs. Clinton were “committed to doing everything they possibly can to damage Obama to a point that he could never win.” -FTA
Hey, that's how I feel!
McCain running with Huckabee on the fall? Say it ain' t so. McCain/Huckabee. America would have to kick our own asses if these were the chumps in charge.
Bible history provided by Brad Needly of SuperDeluxe.com. I guess I'm not the only one who enjoys a good bible story. This tale is another one you probably skipped over in Sunday school. Unless you went to one of those homophobic, hate everyone that isn't in the church, church. Even if you did, enjoy!

What is really going on in this election minus all the spin. Hillary is back but if you look at the numbers she really isn't. All the analysis on the news is garbage. This is a democratic party primary why are so many republican pundits getting air time to weight in? Is it a surprise they are 100% all for Hill-Rod? No they want nothing more than for us to implode. Do not listen to these people! Let us number crunch with Josh Marshall from TPM Media.
Iraq the Vote. Stephen Colbert compares the Iraq strategy to the Clinton strategy.
A side note.. Hillary Clinton is turning out to be worse than Ralph Nader... yeah I said it. Spoiler.
I am so scared.

Pennsylvania Results
As of 6:00 pst Hillary is up by 5%. Bust. It looks like it's not going to end tonight unfortunately. He closed a 20% gap here, Hillary has no dough, but this thing is still gonna go on, and on, and on.
As of 10:00 pst the lead looks more like 10%. So I guess we are right back where we were. The delegate count is locked basically right where it was before the stupid primary. Good job Pennsylvania. Stick a finger in our eye for McCain. Jerks. Not really though. You're cool but don't do it again. What a downer.
Clean up after yourselves!

April 22nd, 2008 Happy Earth Day!
The real George Stephanopoulos John McCain interview. It looks like he did ask some tough questions. When I find the video I will post it.
Last night Keith Olbermann also asked some real tough questions to Hillary Clinton. She remained collected and laughed sometimes where not applicable but I think she did well. I'm defiantly for Obama but I would still vote for her if the democratic party screws over the party by nominating her.
Barack Obama on the Daily Show with Jon Stewart. I embedded the youtube cut down version but you can find the full interview at the Daily Show.com. Here Jon Stewart ask the question everyone at faux news wishes they could ask.
The primary in Pennsylvania is today. Let's hope Clinton doesn't win by over 8%. That's the new number I heard on the news. If she only wins by 7% or less supposedly there will be intense pressure from the party for her to get out. Otherwise it is going to be a long haul.
Plant a tree!

MSNBC won't post Olbermann's Stephanopoulos style John McCain questioning but Brave New Films makes it happen with movie magic. It is pretty funny. (Update: Someone uploaded it to youtube. Check it out on my 4/18 post)
Barack Obama is on The Daily Show tonight. Check it out on Comedy Central it's on at 11pm.

Crazy huh?
April 20th 2008
Well the Pennsylvania democratic primary is on tuesday but today come on a journey into the future with me. Let's speculate like the pros.
No we don't think Obama is like Ducacus do you take notes from Sean Hannity too?
It is the 23rd of April and the results are in. Hillary Clinton only won the state by a slim 2% margin, she concedes yet asks her supporters to get behind Obama. The press is stunned. All their material just dissipated into thin air. Obama and the rest of the Democratic party use their political capital and financial advantage to expose MoneyBags McCain for the hack that he is. Barack Obama becomes the next president. Things slowly get better in America. end scene.
Al-Sadr threatens all out war. As we know the relative peace in Iraq (that the republicans attribute to the escalation or "the surge") is because Al-Sadr created a cease fire. When Sadr lifted the cease fire violence quicly rose again.
Now Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr gave a "final warning" to the government Saturday to halt a U.S.-Iraqi crackdown against his followers or he would declare "open war until liberation." - Associated Press
If you primarily just use your brainstem to function day to day and don't really like to think, even you must see this does not bode well for our war effort. McCain has placed his reputation on the war effort and specifically on the escalation. I see bad things in my crystal ball for Mac Money. I have my fingers crossed for the troops, stay safe guys. Hopefully we change our policies so more don't have to die in vein.
Happy 420!

Keith Olbermann simulates a Stephanopoulos style questioning for John McCain. Obama and Hillary are worse for the ware but teflon John is enjoying his time unopposed and without criticism. Keith put that to a stop today asking him the tough questions about his radical right and religious fanatic associates among others.
Also McCain releases his taxes but his wife files separately and does not share. The Clintons had to be transparent yet Mrs McCain filing separately hides that fact that the MoneyBags McCains have over 100mil in the bank. This guy is calling Obama an elitist.
Texas keeps FLDS kids in state custody. I have heard a lot of FLDS mindset in the media, of course not the anchors or the reporters but legal pundits and people that call in. On NPR one caller asked the audience to put "the situation" into context. She asked us to remember that underage marriage is a tradition, and that if your mother, grandmother and great-grandmother were married at 14 than this is no big deal. It's just tradition.
Is this really as prevalent as the media is making it out to be or are they selecting the crazies to confuse us? This does not get a pass on tradition or a religious grounds. This is indoctrinated misogyny. People married people off so young in olden days because women were seen as bargaining tools. Today we know that women are people (duh). Women have rights and Texas needs to give these girls a opportunity to live without brainwashing and beatings provided by the FLDS. Good for you Texas. Story brought to you by MSNBC.
Have you seen that interview with the Texas FLDS women? One ex-FLDS woman commented on The Verdict with Dan Abrams that they are media savvy and when they act like they are crying there are no tears. She said it was because emotions are beaten and brainwashed out of them systematically. Since I heard her comments I have noticed that although the women in the interviews act like they are crying, there are, absolutely no tears. It's all an act. Wow. These people are crazy.

What a busty debate. It was a hit job I tell you. A hit. It was like the opposite of the "hardball" college tour questioning of McCain.
Makes you cringe. The flag pin, Rev. Wright, a seventies radical and trivial minutia. Stephanopoulos was taking notes on Sean Hannity's radio show. If we're going to be like that lets just have the Democratic debates at Faux News! Its a trap!

Poor people pay more taxes than the rich in America. In some states more than others the situation is reverse Robin Hood. The rich say they pay more but in percentage and numbers the poor bear the burden of tax for rich americans. It's called regressive taxes, and it is becoming the trend. Alabama is number one when it come to regressive taxes. The PBS show Now takes a closer look. This is a heart wrenching story.
It is sad that we mush take from those of us that have the least just to ensure that those of us with the most don't have to give any money back. Think about it the person that can't even afford a car is paying the same amount for roads as the person tearing it up in their massive gas guzzling, four screen installed, luxury sports utility vehicle. That is sickening. Also tax for grocery's? Alabamian are some haters. I have never even heard of that but that in addition to a flat tax. They must be run by Louis IIX and Marie Antoinette. They are poor but they are happy ha fafafafafah let them eat cake. This is what makes me hate America. I'm sorry how can I feel different. Plus Corporate tax declines. :.(
The Pope and Bush a match made in heaven. These guys are probably the biggest hacks out there today (If you are catholic then don't read further). Bush shouldn't be president, the pope should have been someone latin. Instead we have these two haters meeting each other at the airport and discuss stem-cells, gay marriage, a women's right to choose and euthanasia. Guess what they are against all these things. CNN claims that they also discussed Iraq, but only about how to protect the Christians there. Great.
Douglas Feith one of the war architects puts out a new book "explaining" the rush to war with Iraq with the same old garbage; gets PWNED. I think it is a little disrespectful to use these tired lies again especally when everyone knows how false they are.
New anti-McCain ad. This ad is great because just yesterday McCain was talking about how he was so progressive when it came to the environment on Hardball with Chris Matthews last night. I was originally surprised to hear him talking about global warming, until he said the focus should be on bio diesel and nuclear power. It is typical of the Repubs, all that talk, is just talk (he scored a zero on his National Environmental Score Card). I will post the video as soon as I find it on youtube.
McCain says that he is not an elitist like Obama because he served in vietnam and was tortured. If being tortured for what you believe in makes you qualified to be president doesn't that make everyone in Guantanamo and all the other US secrete torture prisons eligible as well? That doesn't sound right. He also wants to cut welfare by 100 million (and cut rich people's taxes) right when americans will need help the most. Thanks elitist.
here is another Bush =s McCain ad
we need some change for a change!

A lot of people came to visit me this weekend. My friend and blog reader Ashley was here to visit her sister and then on Sunday my sister Alyssa was in town and we all played a round of Frisbee golf. It was so much fun but now I am totally beat (this also accounts for the lack of posts). So what's going on in the news?
Here is the first attack ad against McCain. It's not from Hillary or Obama, it's from Progressive Media U.S.A, but it should be. As I've said in the past Hillary and Obama should team up against McCain. Dems need to ban together for real.
McCain isn't a "maverick" he basically votes party line every time. Now more than ever he sounds like he has been implanted with the Bush brain chip. Now he is breaking the rules of the McCain-Feingold champagne finance bill. His name is on the bill. Check it out on Countdown with Keith Olbermann. What-a-jerk!
Weird. I saw the WeCanSolveIt.org ad during Futurama on Comedy Central. Sitting on a couch Pat Robertson and Al Sharpton have a little back and forth but are both for the environment. Good for them.

Obama's elitist remarks WTF? This situation only makes me like Obama more. Why? Because he isn't afraid to tell it like it is. Plus how can "Summer Cottage Hillary Clinton" or Money Bags McCain call Obama, the guy who's mom was a single mother, an elitist?
I like it when people tell the truth. Everyone who has taken a contemporary political science class knows that Republicans use religion, gun control, anti-immigration issues and gay marriage to distract middle america in order to trick them into voting against their own interests.
In 2004 middle america assured that Bush and the Rep congress remained in power by adding state initiatives that banned gay marriage. The Republitards have since done everything they could to take our rights, our jobs, our soldiers lives, our environment, our schools (and on and on) and basically ruining America.

Iraq gets to save while our economy tanks. On NPR this morning I heard that because Iraq doesn't have an electric banking system we cover them on everything. We all knew that Iraqi oil isn't footing the bill but while we hermitage funds like drunken sailors there they get to save? No wonder these jerks want us to stay for 100 years, if we keep to feeding Iraq in a baby chair they will never be able to stand on their own. Listen or read to this report at NPR.
Jon Stewart of the Daily Show discusses the predicted money trend in the segment Iraq me, Dave Petraeus.
Bush administration finally caught red handed. Turns out (if you didn't already come to the conclusion) that the Bush administration made torture their policy.
Highly placed sources said a handful of top advisers signed off on how the CIA would interrogate top al Qaeda suspects -- whether they would be slapped, pushed, deprived of sleep or subjected to simulated drowning, called waterboarding.
The high-level discussions about these "enhanced interrogation techniques" were so detailed, these sources said, some of the interrogation sessions were almost choreographed (WTF?) -- down to the number of times CIA agents could use a specific tactic.
The advisers were members of the National Security Council's Principals Committee, a select group of senior officials who met frequently to advise President Bush on issues of national security policy.
At the time, the Principals Committee included Vice President Cheney, former National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld and Secretary of State Colin Powell, as well as CIA Director George Tenet and Attorney General John Ashcroft.
Call a spade a spade. I am so tired of this. Just because you call torture "enhanced interrogation techniques" doesn't make it something else. If the law can be circumvented just by changing something's name why do we even bother with laws. For example, I'm not "smoking weed" I am "sublimating a bio substance."
The Bush Co. bend (or break) the rules lawyer, John Yoo, is caught, again, writing the constitution out of the law. Here is the story from TPM (alot from TPM today).
Food Prices sore world wide. The price of rice is double what it was last year. Riots broke out in Haiti, the western hemisphere's poorest nation, earlier this week. Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Egypt, Indonesia, Ivory Coast, Mauritania, Mozambique and Senegal have also experienced unrest (basically the rest of the poorest nations). Grain prices are so high the Afganis are now sowing wheat instead of opium poppies!
Bob Schaffer (Rep candidate in CO) digs the Mariana Islands guest worker program. You know the islands under US control that the jailed crook Abramoff lobbied for. Yeah the one's where we make products in sweatshops and they still say "made in the USA" on them. Not with the lead, that's China, the one that...
"is notorious around the world for forced abortion, slavery, child prostitution, beatings and having the overwhelmingly female foreign workers houses in shacks with no plumbing surrounded by barbed wire." - from TMP

There was a hearing in congress about the state of our awesome war to liberate Iran.. whoops I mean Iraq. Basically we heard the same old tired bs from the general accompanied by poking at little charts and maps. Congress followed with a harsh tongue lashing. They made good points, this war is going nowhere and these jerks are committed to staying forever.
What is a surge anyway? Why does everything need to be turned into code. It isn't a surge. It is a escalation. This is a surge.
Lieutenant Commander Matthew Diaz receives the Ridenhour Prize for Truth-Telling. This guy was a staff judge advocate at Guantánamo who was taken down by the Bush Administration for trying to stop the practice of "disappearing".
One of the crimes the Administration committed was withholding from the Red Cross a list of the detainees at Guantánamo, effectively making them into secret detainees. Before the arrival of the Bush Administration, the United States had taken the axiomatic position that holding persons in secret detention for prolonged periods outside the rule of law (a practice known as “disappearing”) was not merely unlawful, but in fact a rarified “crime against humanity.” - from article
Read the article at Harpers Magazine. Diaz went to jail for following the law. Why do the bad guys always win?
Local News! Human rights and Free Tibet advocates began protesting the Beijing Olympics early (SF torch caring is on April 9th) by scaling the Golden Gate Bridge and hanging banners and Tibetan national flags.
So apparently after the mess in London and Paris the Olympics committee is thinking about canceling the international torch bearing tradition. Jon Stewart was talking about this last night.
today we are going to going to do something different
we are going to make bible stories contemporary!
What we will do is find a well known bible story but make the characters people from today.
Today we will discuss the story of Job. You may have heard this story in sunday school, but probably not, because this story is very strange.
Job was a fortunate man. He had a grip of kids, a big house, financial security, basically his life was going swimmingly. Job was very grateful and pious and always remembered to sacrifice stuff to god.
I picked the cast of the wholesome 1990's WB television series 7th Heaven. I never really watched the show but lets just say Stephen Collins (the father on 7th Heaven) is Job. Catherine Hicks is Job's wife, and their kids are the other members of the cast.
Things are pretty honky dory for Job and his fam as we begin our story but not for long.
So Job's sons, the older two on the top left of the picture, have a kegger. Job is worried that they may have rocked harder than god likes to permit so he sacrifices his disc man to charity. God sees this and puts him on his preferred customer data base. God's mortal enemy Satan hacks onto his server, sees Job on the list, then cyber bullies God via AIM.
sAtAn666: Job doesn't even really like you
GOD: yes he does! yes he does!
sAtAn666: lol... I bet if you didn't give him all that nice stuff it would be a different story
GOD: your so on.... jerk
So God allows Satan to pwn Job, hard. Jobs stocks bomb when the tech bubble pops. His identity is stolen and he loses his house and his cars when his credit tanks. His kids all die tragically. The younger ones die in a bible camp bus accident. The others die when the roof caves in at that restaurant where they hang out. The dog is hit by a car.
Job cannot believe that these terrible things are happening to him, but remains devout and continues to sacrifice stuff for God.
GOD: woot! i win :P
sAtAn666: na-uh i never got to get job
GOD: rotflmaof! you could do anything to that guy and he would still love me
sAtAn666: fine
So Satan infects Job with some kind of staff infection. His whole body gets covered in boils, because Job has been so broke and hasn't paid his health insurance, he just has to deal with it.
Job's wife is fed up with this and tells her husband to denounce God in light of everything that has happened. You could see why she would be upset. God strikes her down and she goes to hell. But Job remains devout.
Job's friends show up and try to figure out what this is all about. They suggest sacrificing more stuff. But one of his buddies disagrees. Just then God shows up as a whirlwind and tell them to stfu. He says that he is a really busy guy and that its his way or the highway. He tells Job to pray for is misguided friends and POOF!
All of Job's wealth and property return to him. His kids are returned to him (zombies?) and he is given ten more children on top of the ten he already has. Plus these ones are all as hot or hotter than Jessica Biel. Job is psyched. Job's wife remains in hell, bust. But at least Satan didn't get a W right?
Well that was a nice story wasn't it?

Republicans help the rich get richer. How do they accomplish this? The exact mechanisms are unknown (you think they would tell us?) but the data is. You should check out Paul Krugman's post today. Here is the data
Over the past seven years salary and wages have stagnated while prices have skyrocketed. Even the bush voting middle class has felt the squeeze, and Americans seem to be done with these guys. Check out this video.
Barack was on Hardball with Chris Matthews (college tour addition) today and I thought he did very well. Chris Matthews is a different story. I feel like he asked the same lame petty questions all cable news people ask. Also I feel like the questions Matthews asked were low brow. This is a college tour not a high school tour. The questions the audience asked were far more sophisticated than Matthew's. watch it here
Lou Dobbs uses the term "cotton (picking)" to describe black leaders in an interview with Wolf Blitzer. The interview is a response to Condoleezza Rice's comments on Barack Obama's speech about race. She said that race needs to be discussed in America and characterized slavery as America's birth defect.
"Racial healer Lou Dobbs explains how he's sick of "cotton pickin'" black leaders telling him how he can and can't talk about race (he catches himself at the last minute -- sorta)" - Josh Marshall of Talking Points Memo
Lou Dobbs is that last person anyone should be taking advise from when it come to race relations. This guy is a grade A bigot and fear mongerer. Lou Dobbs, Tucker Carlson and Joe Scarborough are CNN and MSNBC's answers to Faux News. A tribute to non news that sells. When you see these jerks be prepared to shield your brain.
Pelosi, I like this new side of you. It seems (finally) the Dems are growing themselves a backbone. If only stem cell research was past a couple years ago they could have grown one in '06!
