Damn it's already August 18th? Only 7 more days...
Did anyone see the Saddleback Church interrogation? I thought it was pretty weak. McCain was super weak but both candidates were sucking up to the bible beaters. Not really a big fan.

Is Obama a celebrity like Paris Hilton or Brittany Spears? Is that the best you can come up with (Obama today). McCain is pulling at straws. The worst thing about it is that the media just parrots McCain talking points without any perspective. Let's see who the media really lets get away with murder.

Maliki and Obama agree, the U.S. needs to get out of Iraq.
McCain gaffs again. Who get's Iraq and Afghanistan confused? Certainly not a master expert of foreign affairs. Right?
This shit is getting ridicules.

What is with the media? It seems to have an unconditional love for John "The Maverick" McCain. But why? Eric Alterman & George Zornick break it down in the article "Loving John McCain" which will appear in the July 7th issue of The Nation. This is a must read (You can find it in the link). It basically lays out McCain's; ties to lobbyists, shady law loopholes, extremely hypocritical flip-flops, complete lack of understanding of foreign affairs and the media's efforts to cover up, neglect and explain them away. They also delve into McCain's relationship with the media and how (even many of the most respected journalists) the MSM (main stream media) became his unofficial campaign spokes people. Also the whole maverick thing (that is repeated over and over) is complete bullshit. He basically votes party line, and in the unlikely even he does go against his party (i.e. immigration, gay marriage and tax breaks for the rich) he immediately flip-flops his position for political advantage.

The conservatives this week are asking why can't we drill in ANWR or in the Gulf of Mexico. Neil Cavuto was basically crying about it last night on Fox News' Your World. It was pathetic. Now super douche Glen Beck is claiming that ANWR is the answer to all our problems by over inflating the estimated production yield by 7000%. Why does this guy have a show?
Republicans have also been drumming up fear claiming that the Chinese have been building drilling rigs/nuclear missile launchers near Florida. Of course this claim is a complete fabrication republicans just wants you to convince you we should drill there first.
The weather is gorgeous here so I am about to go outside.

Tim Russert kicks the bucket. That's sad. Was he even old? 1950-2008, he was only 58. He was a pretty cool guy. I remember him being so psyched about Obama clinching the nomination. Rest in peace buddy.
on a lighter note...
McCain doesn't have a chance. Barack is on fire. I am always seeing Barack stencils and "yes we can" painted all over the city. Now Stephen Colbert is having a "Make McCain exciting" green screen contest.

The case for war was a pack of lies. Of course we all knew that by now but it took Scott Mcclellan's tell all book to finally break it to the media. Will someone (anyone) get some heat for this? Unfortunately I doubt it.
Check it out. This band plays on the corner of Irvine and 9th ave right down the street from my house on Sundays. Check them out, buy their CD, book them for a party etc. They kick ass.

Hillary has endorsed Barack Obama. I had this feeling that she was going to stay in the race until the convention and beyond. Glad she didn't. That would have been a bust. But it is all good. Obama in November.

Finally Barack Obama is the democratic party's presumptive nominee. I can't believe it. It is so sudden. He just spoke at a rally 32,000 people strong in Minneapolis. Surprising number of hot girls in the crowd. nice.

Is Hillary still in the race? Oh she won Puerto Rico. wow. Who cares or has ever cared about them. I wish this thing would end.
